Nesting: 29 weeks
The 1st project was making my own baby sling as opposed to buying one of those pricey ones at stores and online. So I tried my hand at it and used baby Mark to try it out, he loved it, fell asleep right away and it is very comfortable to wear. Deanna liked it so I made her one and tried out adding two pockets, one for a cell phone and a little larger one that fits a pacifier or something and also a fabric loop she can clip a pacifier or keys or rattle/teether to. I think it worked out pretty wonderfully:
Now that I have it down I'm going to order myself some nice fabric and make a better one for myself. Also Jamie has requested one so I will be making hers once I get her fabric. I really like making them and feel so much more confident with my sewing machine that I think I will make a few to sell and little boutiques. I could easily double and more my money on it. I also will be tackling some of the projects in my "sewing for baby" book including bloomers, a boppy cover, rattles, pants, bibs and burp clothes to name a few. I'll keep yall posted on my endeavors.
I have also been busy the past few days moving and decorating the office, guest bed and nursery around. I am so please with the results... The office is now the office/guest room and the nursery is a room all its own. This time around the guest room was much easier to decorate, and I love that I finally get to show off Brian's old dresser that I love, and some of my art work. Mom was worried about me having nudes hangin around the house but I think they are tasteful. :)
