Mommy mayhem

Well what can I say except I'm 29 weeks! My due date is less than 11 weeks away and rolling in fast, so fast in fact I'm starting to do the whole nesting thing lol. I've been reading books like crazy, my favorite being the Babywise book Jenny sent me that many recent moms have recommended. It has put so much into perspective and its all pretty much common sense, no strict scheduling, crazy philosophies or unattainable goals so I think I can do it.
In baby news we just had another ultrasound Monday and our son is growing very well despite the 2 vessel cord. At this stage in my pregnancy they say your baby grows 1 ounce a day and baby center said that at 29 weeks the baby is 2 1/2 lbs and 15 inches long head to toe. Our little Brian seems to be a little ahead of the trusty Babycenter website though weighing in at 2 lbs 13 ounces Monday, meaning he's probably hit 3 lbs by today, and I bet he's longer than 15 inches considering they've mentioned how long he is the past two ultrasound (a trait he surely gets form his daddy). Regardless of the fact he's in the 50th percentile for growth the doctors still want to keep a close eye on him and have scheduled us for not only another ultrasound in 4 weeks but also at that time I will begin going to the hospital 2 times a week, every week, for stress tests on our baby, IN ADDITION to our prenatal visits which will be every week or 2 by then. So I will basically be living at the medical center starting at 32 weeks! (This is why I have been stressing so much about getting ready for baby I think)

Let's see I also returned from Houston last week for my s.i.l. Jamie's baby shower. It was so fun, so many beautiful pregnant women there. As you know Jamie is only 2 weeks ahead of me but her little guy is growing strong and already 5 lbs! While at home I received some more beautiful gifts including some adorable clothes and handmade baby blankets. I went with Jenny and we had a fab. girl's afternoon complete with lunch, gossip and massages at a spa... total bliss! Also Dusty and Jamie passed down the baby bassinet my mother had bought when they got married, which is so precious, exactly what I was wanting.
My dad ordered our fabulous stroller last week which was delivered the other day much to my surprise. I'm so excited for this stroller, I did so much research on strollers before I stumbled on this one. It's really cool because the seat of the stroller can be placed facing back towards mommy and daddy or facing forward looking out at the world. The seat reclines to 3 different positions and can even be removed and replaced with an infant car seat. Other pluses are its Ohio State red so daddy can stroll with pride and its 3 wheeled for easy maneuverability. This stroller is so versatile and I cannot wait to use it (even considered taking it on one of my walks, even though Brian Jeffrey isn't even here yet lol) and Brian can't either, he pushed it around the house after I assembled it the other day. He's going to be such a handsome looking father :)

So we have our stroller finally, our crib and a bassinet, blankets and bibs and a growing stylish wardrobe... plus a bathtub and tons of fun bath time toys and a few rattles and pacifiers. We have one more shower in a month which I am so grateful for because there is still so much we still need.
With all this baby gear coming our way I am planning on moving the guest bed into the office and making the nursery a room all its own. We still haven't gotten our bedding yet so decorating the nursery will still be put on the back burner as I plan on painting pictures for the wall based on the bedding. However organization can still take place, and will. I've been separating things out, getting clothes and blankets ready to be washed, starting to make my hospital bag lists and plan to have them put together in a week or so. I know 11 weeks may be a long time but I feel like it will be here in a few days and I have to get as much done as possible!
Brian is being a good sport about everything, luckily he is at work when I am tearing the house up in preparation, I think the only thing driving him crazy is the constant discussion of where I will work after the baby and what he will do after the army. Next month I will be working in our towns school district as a substitute teacher up until the baby comes and then after that our goal is for me to get a job in or near my hometown of Magnolia as a teacher because they pay more. Of course that means baby Brian and I will be away from daddy Brian Mon-Fri which we hate, but it does have the benefit of having better pay and some family help with the baby; and it is for only til May Brian says. At that time I'm assuming we will move our home to the Houston area where Brian will enjoy some much needed time off before heading into the civilian workforce and I will get a summer job.
Well that's whats been going on in our world, hope you all are doing fine. I'll be sure to post again soon once I start getting the nursery more together ;)
Have a great day!
