HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

2010 is here! Looking back on the past 525,600 minutes we had the best year last year; Brian finally returned safe and sound from Iraq, we found out we were pregnant, went on a much needed vacation which included seeing friends and family in Ohio and a beautiful Caribbean cruise, Brian turned 28 and I 24, Brian also bought a shiny new car, we found out we were having a boy, felt his first kicks heard his heart beat, had some great baby showers and received some wonderful gifts, I picked up sewing, we had our beautiful baby boy October 12th and celebrated our 2nd anniversary a few weeks later, and now we have spent our first holiday season together and more time with family. As much as I'd love for the good fortune of 2009 to continue its always exciting to start anew, and I'm sure 2010 has some even more wonderful moments and memories in store for us.
We had a wonderful Christmas with Brian's mom and sister who flew down to spend it with us. They had a horrible time getting here though, due to snow and freezing in Dallas (we Texans just don't know what to do in that weather) and after 12 hours or so in an airport they finally made it. Unfortunately lil B. was already in bed and fast asleep so they had to wait til Christmas morning to hold him. He took to them instantly, charming them with his smile, he especially loved flirting with Mary (I've noticed he's go a thing for blondes). Needless to say he spent the next 5 days in some one's arms at all times.
Christmas day Mom, Dan and Chance stopped by bearing gifts and a Santa suit :) We sat around as my turkey roasted watching Christmas movies, later Brian and Chance played Tiger Woods golf on the new xbox before we opened presents and sat down to a delicious Christmas dinner.

The next morning we hit the road bright and early and headed up to Opa's ranch in Mountain Home. Although Brian's family had been here before we had not yet taken them into the hill country so they enjoyed taking in the new sights and seeing the most beautiful part of Texas. Becky took tons of pictures for Jeff who was unable to come down with them. From what Becky has told me he is very interested in coming and seeing it for himself next time and has volunteered to help fix up anything we need at the ranch and although our deer here in Texas are much smaller than Ohio deer he wouldn't mind hunting so big axis that we saw on the Mullen ranch. Sunday afternoon, as the boys hunted I took the girls (Becky, Mary, Michelle, Trish and Cassandra) and Jr into Fredricksburg to meet up with Jamie and Kason for a little shopping and lunch. We didn't buy much but did enjoy a glass of wine as we walked down main. We had lunch at the old Auslander restaurant and Jamie and I swapped babies. Brian and Kason didn't seem very interested in meeting each other, though Jamie and I were amazed at their difference in size, just a 3 lb difference my scrawny lil Brian will definitely need to be nice to his cousin who could beat him up lol. I absolutely loved Kason, his eyes are a much brighter blue than Brian's and he looks a lot more like Jamie than Dusty. Jamie and I decided we have to make it a point to visit for play dates often when the boys start getting into their toys. I think they will be great friends and have lots of fun growing up together. And as Cassandra says they will have plenty of crazy stories to tell as any Kramer does :)

We came back to Cove on Monday but on the way we stopped by Lukenbach for pictures and T-shirts. I did my best to tell them all I knew about the famous Lukenbach they had heard about in the song and Becky and Jr. even got to hop on top a Texas Longhorn for a picture! I love Lukenbach and would like to go there more often this year, maybe I'll make it a resolution :)

Tuesday the girls came with me to B's 2 month check up. His brain growth is right on track, he now weighs 13 lbs and is 25 inches long. We talked more with the doctor about Brian's torticollis which he was diagnosed with just before Christmas, and the shape of his head ( it is a little flat on one side bc of the torticollis). Brian will be starting his physical therapy on the 4th and we will be able to learn how to help him stretch and hopefully we will get through this disability quickly and painlessly. After the doctor Becky and Mary went to toysrus for Brian's presents, they got in so late in Christmas Eve they were unable to go shopping in time for Christmas so we celebrated it a second time on the 29th. And boy did B have a good Christmas! We opened the gifts sent from Ohio that night as well, he received blankets, books, a frog pod for his bath toys and a luxurious baby spa whirlpool/shower bath which he just loves. We are actually a little envious of his whirlpool and wish it would work in our tub!

On Wednesday Becky and Mary unfortunately had to fly back, we took them to the airport, where there of course was a delay despite the perfect weather, and said our good byes after sitting with them for an hour or so. I know it was hard for Becky to leave her grandson and she cannot wait to see him again. Brian and I hope to make it up there in this new year but with the uncertainty of when on how Brian will be getting out of the Army and if, when and where I will be starting my teaching career, we cannot be sure. I hope to maybe have a white Christmas next year and spend it there.... we shall see.

Anyway, thank you to everyone who sent us Christmas cards and Brian gifts and to my family for helping me show our Ohio family a good time, thank you to Becky and Mary for flying down to see us and making B's first Christmas a memorable one and to Jeff for giving us your girls over Christmas. We hope everyone has had a Merry Christmas and a safe and fun New Years, we wish you all love, happiness and prosperity in 2010 and hope to see each and everyone of you soon.
Much Love!
