2 Months!
Wow, can you believe it, we hit the 2 month mark this weekend. I can't believe time has flown by so fast. This past month has been fun and full of travel therefore pretty exhausting. I started back at work, well not really, I only worked one day :) Mom came up and babysat for me. She did pretty well except didn't follow my instructions for naps lol but I know now it wasn't her fault, Brian likes to stay up and socialize when we have visitors. Work was pretty easy, my day went by swiftly but I was excited to get back home to my little guy.
We took our first family trip a few weeks ago for Thanksgiving; I packed SO much stuff and still managed to forget a few things lol. It was a good trip though, we stayed at a different house each night so by the 3rd days we were seasoned travelers. Our playpen with attached bassinet and changer worked so well and we can put it up/take it down in 5 minutes flat. And Brian Jr did wonderfully, our little social butterfly just loved being passed around. Surprisingly it didn't bother him a bit; he didn't miss a nap and fell right asleep and even began sleeping as long as 5 hrs at night! We ended our trip with a short Christmas card photo shoot at Jenny's adorable studio in Old Town Spring ( I'm so excited to send them out to everyone!) Afterwards we met up with Lynn and Patricia Gosen for a little walking around. They bought lil B an adorable Christmas onesie (Thanks guys)
The next weekend we took a trip up to my Opa's ranch and hung out with Dad. We had a great time, Sheldon came up to hunt, Dad and I spent Saturday making chili from scratch and Opa stopped by to meet his great grandson. It was really cool seeing him with little Brian and we got some good pictures.
This past weekend we took it easy, didn't travel anywhere and caught up on housework and grocery shopping. On Friday, with a little helpful wisdom from Jamie I got Brian to sleep an entire 8 hours straight! Little Brian also started home-daycare this week, I lucki
ly found a lady (Mrs.Gonzalez) I just love, as I went back to work for a couple days before the break. This is Brian all excited to go to his first day of day care.I was waiting to post this til today because I wanted to give you all updates on his weight and length, however I have come down with something and was late to our check-up this morning and they were unfortunately too busy to squeeze me in :( so we had to reschedule for Dec 29th. The day wasn't a total waste though, I managed to get in at my doctor who told me it was viral and prescribed me steroids. Said I should be all better just in time for Christmas break. In the mean time Brian is taking over as much baby duty as possible so as to lessen chances for Jr getting sick. Tomorrow I will take him to Mrs Gonzalez and return home for the day to rest, clean and make the last of my presents.
Speaking of the break Brian and I have everything all ready and decorated for our first Christmas together, complete with Nascar ornaments on the tree :) Jr. just loves laying under the tree during his independent playtime and gazing at all the colorful lights. Brian's mom and sister will be celebrating Christmas here in Cove with us this year and we are so happy they can do so. They will be arriving Christmas Eve and staying through the New Year. I am sure B. will love meeting and spending some much needed time with his aunt Mary and Grandma :) We may not have a white Christmas here in Texas but it sure is cold!
We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and hope you all have a joyous and safe New Year!
