Exciting things to come
Its been a long time coming, this blog. Honestly I don't know what took me so long- uncertainty, procrastination, lack of focus, indecisiveness, and fear may be a few reasons. But here I sit, on the eve of my 32nd birthday, listening to the advice and encouragement of a few very special friends who have been encouraging me to get back to blogging for months now. I'm definitely a milestone initiatater- I always feel like I need an occasion to mark a new beginning, phase, or change in my life. So what better reason than my birthday, right?? The advice from my friends... JUST DO IT!
So here I go! I feel like starting with who I am and what my goals are for in my writing would be a good first start. For those of you who don't know me, I am Cory. I am a wife to my husband of almost 10 years, Brian; mom to our three beautiful children, almost 8 year old Brian, 5 year old Ella, and almost 3 year old Grace.
I am a servant at heart and am blessed to have a career in two areas of passions- education and health and fitness. My main career is as an educational specialist for our regional education service center in the areas of special education, instruction, and digital innovation. I get to create and provide professional development to educators at al levels and , my favorite, work as an instructional coach with educators for job embedded professional development. I'm passionate about inclusion and access to instruction for students with disabilities, collaboration, and designing meaningful learning experiences for both teachers and students.
My secondary career is as an online health and fitness coach- working along side my clients to provide information, support and encouragement along their health and fitness journies. This was never anything I imagined doing, but as I began my own health and fitness journey just over a year ago I found that Coaching was the perfect fit for me. As a busy mom of three and lover of tacos, carbs, cheese, and sweets- my goal is to provide easy, delicious meals and methods to maintain a balanced and healthy lifestyle for myself and my clients.
So what is my goal in this blog?? To share my story and hopefully add value to you life. I write this blog first and formost for me- to collect and reflect on our perfectly imperfect life. And secondly, for you, my reader- who ever you may be. Because if there is anything I have discovered in the past year, it has been that we tend to feel highly isolated as people. Sure we are connected, but in a room full of people we can still feel so totally alone. I promise to be transparent and vulnerable, and maybe you'll be able to relate, maybe not. But if I can help just one person through my writings, than it's been worth it all.
