FOOD!!!!!
Happy February everyone! We hope y'all had a nice Valentines Day last weekend. I have so much to update y'all on so I will get right to it.
First of all I forgot to post the pictures of the mount that Sheldon did for Brian last month. This is Brian's second deer and Sheldon did a European mount for him in just two days. Needless to say Brian loves it and decided it would be the centerpiece for our coffee table :) I think it looks pretty good in the living room myself :D Below is the picture of it.
On the 12th Jr turned 4 months old and had his check up. He's a whopping 16 lbs now and 25.9 inches long! He thankfully is as healthy as can be and his doctor told us to start giving him juices and solids as an introduction to tastes and textures over the next couple of months. :) We went straight to the store when we left to buy all the supplies we'd need. Of course we didn't think about the fact that we can only introduce one thing at a time and have to wait at least 4 days before the next new food. So that day he had his first apple juice and early this week we started rice cereal, which he loves! Today I successfully made my own applesauce for him, not going to lie it took me a couple tries before I found the best method, and I think he really liked it :) I think next we'll do bananas....

To update everyone on work, I did not get the teaching job I talked about last time, I have been told they were really interested in me because of my recommendations, however since I had not taken the certification test yet their hands were tied and they had to offer the job to another teacher who had. They told me she had 2 weeks to agree and move to Texas, if she didn't meet the time frame I would probably be hired; of course she accepted and made it in time so I'll have to wait for something else. Speaking of which I lucked into a permanent sub position at the Jr. high doing inclusion. The position is actually open and I have applied for it as well. I am taking my exam on March 8th so I hopefully won't get passed up this time and have the teachers on my team rooting for me to stay the rest of the year and be hired as the replacement teacher. Only snag with this job is there is a coaching responsibility currently attached to it but word is they are probably going to make it separate from the inclusion. It would be beneficial for the school, students and teachers if I got the job since I am already familiar with the duties and have begun to build relationships with my students so I am working hard to prove that to the administration. I think so far I have been successful at this because they have asked me to start attending the special education and ARD meetings :)
On Brian's side they are still working on his Med Board and there is nothing really new to report there at the moment.
This week Gammy took a day off work to come visit Lil Brian and as usual she brought lots of goodies from Houston with her. Brian's book collection has doubled now as she found more of the Dr Seuss books from when we were little. I am so excited about this because Dr Seuss books are my favorite to read to Jr :) She also brought us a brand new camcorder! So now we will be able to make videos of all the exciting things happening in this first year and everyone will be able to hear him laugh and see him wiggle around and eventually crawl and walk :)

Well folks, I think that is all for now, I hope you enjoyed the pictures and stay tuned for videos next time as we begin playing with our new camcorder and exploring new foods each week.
Much love!
